Dear Dolphin Families,
This is the principal of Wood Elementary with your weekly update of upcoming events.
Thank you to everyone that participated in Wood Elementary Trunk-or-Treat last Tuesday. We had over 200 people attend and participate. It was fun to see all the families and community members decorate their cars give out treats to students. Thank you for taking part and making this a great event!
Our school has accepted the challenge of helping to find a cure for Blood Cancer! We are joining over 27,000 schools across the nation to make a difference and raise as much money as we can! Over the next 3 weeks our school will be working to reach a goal of $2500. A letter has was sent home about Pennies for Patients this week. If you can please donate.
Working with students is one of the most rewarding jobs. If you are interested in becoming an Educational Assistant or working for Centennial School District there are jobs available. Please check out the Centennial School District Website for more information.
Every Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday our school doors open for free breakfast at 7:55am, students can go to the classroom at 8am. The warning bell is at 8:10am and school starts at8:15am. Every Wednesday is late start. So on Wednesday’s our school doors open at 8:55am for free breakfast. Students can go to class starting at 9am. The warning bell is at 9:10am and school starts at 9:15am. Please make sure students are on time because we will be starting morning announcements and the Pledge of Allegiance promptly at the start of school.
Remember, student attendance is very important. This week we had many classes with at least one day of perfect attendance. Way to go Dolphins.
Remember every Wednesday students are encouraged to wear their school shirts or wear the color blue to show their school pride. We will be having class competitions for which class wears the most blue every Wednesday for the rest of the year to show our school pride.
School ends at 2:22pm and every minute of learning counts. Please let the office know before 2pm if there is going to be a change in the way your student gets home. After 2pm unless it is an emergency we will not be able to get a message to your students. Likewise please avoid picking up your student early at the end of the day unless it is an emergency because we really want them using every minute of class time to learn.
Please make sure to follow the Parking Lot procedures for picking up and dropping off your student. Remember, a great way to avoid the Wood Elementary Parking Lot congestion is to drop off and pick up students in the back of the school on Lafayet. There is staff supervision before and afterschool. See our Website or Welcome Back Pack for more information.
