Dear Dolphin Families,
This is the principal of Wood Elementary with your weekly update of upcoming events.
Thank you for everyone that attended Spring Conference. We had an outstanding turnout and great spring conferences thanks to all of you.
Thank you to everyone that attended last Tuesday’s Booster Meeting and also our Kindergarten Transition Night for Ready, Set, Go Families. It was great to see all our families and all the learning.
Congratulations to Ms. Gerber’s class for winning yesterday’s School Spirit Blue Day with 81% of her students wearing blue. They won an extra recess and will be in the weekly announcement to families. Way to show your school Spirit Ms. Gerber’s class!
Calling all Parents and Community Members. We need your voice! We are looking for parents and community members to be part of our Wood Elementary Site Council and help develop our School Improvement Plan. The Site Council meets the second Wednesday of every month from 2:45-3:45pm in the Library. Please show up and share your thoughts to help improve our school.
Wood Elementary Site Council Meeting Schedule:
4/11/18 – 2:45 to 3:45 PM
5/9/18 – 2:45 to 3:45 PM
6/13/18 – 2:45 to 3:45 PM
Please remind your student’s that unless they are in a supervised activity afterschool all Wood Elementary students need to be off campus during our SUN program and they are not allowed to return to campus until 4:45pm.
Please make sure to follow the Wood Elementary Parking Lot procedures for picking up and dropping off your student. Remember, a great way to avoid the Wood Elementary Parking Lot congestion is to drop off and pick up students in the back of the school on Lafayet. There is staff supervision before and afterschool. See our Website for more information.
Likewise please remember to not leave valuables or other items in your car when parking to pick up your students. There has been an increase in car break in in the area so please take steps to be safe.
Working with students is one of the most rewarding jobs. If you are interested in becoming an Educational Assistant or working for Centennial School District there are jobs available. Please check out the Centennial School District Website for more information.
Monday, April 9th is the start of our Spring Sun Program. If you have not already done so please turn in your SUN packet Monday.
Spring Picture Day is Tuesday, April 10th. Make sure to bring your money and wear the clothes you want your pictures taken in if you are going to get spring pictures.
Wednesday, April 11th is our April Volunteer Day from 9-12pm. Please come and volunteer your time and help support our school. Even if you can only volunteer an hour on Wednesday it will be a big help and a real difference for our students.
We need your voice! Come to the Wood Site Council meeting on April 11th from 2:45-3:45pm in Library. Everyone is welcome.
Come and support our school on Wednesday, April 11th at 7pm for our Wood Elementary School Board Presentation.
